Key Passage: Acts 15
Key Text: Acts 15:18 – “Known to God from eternity are all His works.”
Still on the matter of faith. When is a house built? When is a city developed? Is it when bricks and mortar are deployed, or when the architect puts the master plan down on paper? Which one is more powerful? A vision or an act? Today, I want to assure you of one undeniable truth. God knows everything. The bible says He is omniscient. We would be wrong to think that God making it up as we go along. Not at all; God is deliberate and planned. Morris Cerullo, the great apostle and evangelist, used to say that God is a God of objectivity, plan and design. Actually, when he made this statement is went right over my head. I used to nod, but I didn’t quite get it.
Today’s scripture tells us “Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.” One of the special attributes of God is that He knows the end of a matter from the beginning, so He confidently says what will happen and it happens. But undergirding this knowledge of God is another truth, that I personally feel is often missed and misunderstood, and impacts on our faith and how we exercise it. It is this truth that God only calls us to walk in His pre-accomplished works.
Let me break that down. God will first finish something, then He calls us to start it here on earth. As we obey, we see something God has done and finished released into this earth. Faith is not about doing anything new in that sense, it is about seeing what God has done and just follow Him and it will be done here on earth. Jesus said we should pray daily that God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
There are many examples of this in the bible. In Exodus 25:9, God told Moses “Exactly as I show you concerning the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, so you shall make it.” This tabernacle that Moses built in the wilderness was a replica of the one in heaven.
It has always been on God’s heart that the earth will be a replica of Heaven and that the world will operate along the same principles that Heaven operates on. Like an embassy or a consulate of another country. So God is always looking for people who would take Him at His word and move on earth to obey His word. Noah’s ark was according to a pattern God showed Noah.
So faith is not some strange phenomenon, but a firm conviction that what God says is true, though there is no physical evidence to suggest it is so, at the time God says it. Faith is submission to God’s wisdom and judgement, when our own wisdom and judgement tells us something totally different.
I think faith is easy, once you know God who spoke has already accomplished what He promises.
Let’s Pray: Father God, help me to have faith in your words and to trust that whatever You ask me to do on earth has already been accomplished. That it exists in another realm and I can manifest it here, once I believe and obey. Thank you for all your accomplished works!! In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
