Key Scripture
“And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe…” – Ephesians 1:19

In Africa, there’s a popular saying: “Power pass Power.” This simple expression acknowledges that there are different levels of power. Isn’t it just great to know that those who belong to the Kingdom of God are covered by the greatest power there is? The Bible refers to this as all power. Child of God, you are covered by the greatest power. Fear not!
When the Holy Spirit comes upon a person, He brings Governing Power, Ruling Power, and Dominion Power. All kingdoms and powers become subject to that believer in the name of Jesus. The Greek word for this power is Kratos.
As we greet the new day with the fresh dew of the morning, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the power and authority of our Creator. Kratos appears numerous times throughout the New Testament, and its meaning holds profound spiritual significance. At its core, Kratos conveys the idea of strength, force, and supremacy. It points to the unmatched power and sovereignty of the Almighty, the one true God who reigns over all. Is there something He cannot do?
When we read passages that reference the Kratos of God, we are reminded of His absolute control and dominion. He is the source of all authority, the ultimate ruler whose kingdom knows no end. Ephesians 1:19-21 describes “the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His great might that He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion.”
Let’s look at this a bit more closely. This story is captured in Matthew 28:2, 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone [a]from the door, and sat on it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
Think about the immense power on display. There was an earthquake. The ground shook violently, the angel rolled away the stone at the mouth of the tomb and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning. His clothes were white as snow. And the guards, representing the Roman government and its might, shook with great fear and fell down as dead men. They did not die, but they became absolutely powerless like dead men. WOW! This is the type of Kratos power God makes available to us who are His children. Selah! Think and meditate on this.
Someone once said “There is a power so strong, it makes the rulers of this world tremble.“
This majestic Kratos of God is not something to be feared, but rather celebrated and revered. For those who have placed their faith in Christ, it is a source of unwavering hope and security. We can take comfort in the knowledge that our God is all-powerful, able to protect, provide, and guide us through even the darkest of circumstances.
As we bask in the gentle glow of the early morning dew, let us be reminded of the incredible Kratos of our Heavenly Father. May we stand in awe of His might, surrender to His sovereignty, and find our strength in the unshakable power of the one true God.
Today, step out in the confidence that He who is with you is greater than he who is in the world. Step out knowing you are secure. Step out in full assurance that He is able to keep you. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
— Ephesians 6:10
