It would be considered absurd if not silly to go out in the rain without an umbrella when the weather forecast clearly says it would be a rainy day. When the seasons change we also adjust ourselves to cope with the coming season. In the UK, we brought out our winter clothes and woollies to cope with the winter months and when summer comes, we put these heavy clothing away and bring out our lighter ones. This is just simple survival and common sense.

Everything in God’s creation moves to a rhythm. God preordained the seasons and the rhythms of time. It is our duty to discern the seasons of God and organise ourselves to be in concert with His rhythms and seasons. This is what the sons of Issachar were known for in the Old Testament. They knew the times and seasons of God and what Israel ought to do. (1 Chronicles 12:31 – of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do) Listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit, helps us to know the seasons and flow in God’s rhythms.

This year, God is calling the church to rise up in faith. Now the just will live by faith is what I hear. The seasons are changing and things are going to get intense, but for the children of God, we must not allow the prevailing circumstances to affect our perceptions and our realities. God’s perspective is the reality. Everything may shake and something’s may fall, but the word of God, the foundation of faith will remain, unshaken, unbroken and upstanding.

So let me encourage you, to get the word of God into you life in a real way. Get His promises and stand on them. Do not look to man or to the world or to any organisation for that matter. Keep your eyes and ears on God and His promises and chose to live by what He says not what you feel. The world may say it will be a difficult year, but the Lord says He will crown the year with His goodness. It may get dark in the world, but the light will shine in the Church of Jesus Christ.

Remember in the book of Exodus, there was darkness in the land of Egypt, but light shone in Goshen, the land where the Israelites lived. I see the Goshen effect this year. When the world is confused and in the dark, we would bring out the light of God’s word and show the way.

So fill your heart with God’s promises, fill your mouth with the same promises, fill your ways with the promises and reap the full manifestations of the word of God that can never return to Him void.

It’s time for the sons of God to arise. It’s time for the leaps of faith. it’s time for the champions of faith. It’s time to live, really live by faith.

Have a faith filled 2015!

Let’s Pray:
Father, thank you that you speak of the end from the beginning. Thank you for the grace to live by faith. Let your word dwell in me richly this year and let me always draw strength and comfort for your word. I believe 2015 will be a great year for me, because I chose to believe your word and live by faith, In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
